This Policy explains how StudyNext handles study data, account information, reports, usage information and payment-related information.
1. Information and purposes
Study plans, tasks, activity and review content are used to manage learning, calculate schedules and review intervals, and sync and display data. Calculations run on your device; study data is not sent to an AI provider for this purpose. Connected data is transmitted as described below.
When you connect an Atmosphere account through AT Protocol, records such as plans, activity and Study Room messages and status are public on your account's data storage service (PDS). StudyNext's display and search service (AppView) also stores the contents of current records, not just links. Hiding a record in the App does not make the source record private. Others may obtain or copy public records. Do not post sensitive information.
We use account handles, display names and images for connection and display. Authentication normally uses OAuth; app passwords are optional. Sessions and credentials are stored on your device or browser. StudyNext does not store app passwords on its service.
At startup, the App may send StudyNext an identifier generated per installation, the app version and platform (normally no more than once for the same day, version and platform). We use this to understand version adoption and daily use. This does not include a name, email address or account identifier, but it is pseudonymous information that can link activity from the same installation across days; it is not anonymous.
Reports contain the reporting and reported accounts, category, written reason and an optional copy of the reported message. They are saved on the reporting user's PDS; StudyNext also stores their contents for moderator review.
2. Payments and external services
Optional iOS and Android support purchases are paid through Apple App Store or Google Play, with RevenueCat used to manage purchases. Web support opens a Stripe checkout page. Each provider handles purchase and payment information under its own policy. See the privacy policies of Apple, Google, RevenueCat and Stripe. StudyNext does not sell user data. Third parties can obtain public records; information may also be disclosed where required by law or otherwise permitted by applicable law.
3. Storage and deletion
You can remove on-device data using the App's data deletion feature. What happens on uninstall depends on device and browser storage. Removing local data alone does not delete synced records or your account. The App's “Delete all data” feature requests deletion of StudyNext records from your PDS and clears local data; it does not delete the account. Success depends in part on connectivity and the PDS.
When StudyNext learns that a record was deleted, it removes that record's contents from AppView. A separate history of changes without record contents may remain. StudyNext cannot delete data from your PDS itself or copies others already obtained. Contact your PDS provider about data there and us about data we hold.
No uniform retention period is stated here for usage information, reports or other information held by StudyNext. PDS records and payment information are also subject to the relevant providers' policies.
We cannot control copies others made before deletion or how long external providers retain their data. If a deletion fails because of connectivity or another issue, check the App’s message and retry if needed.
4. Access, correction and other requests
For requests under applicable law to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal information StudyNext holds, or other questions, contact contact@studynext.app or the contact page. We may ask to verify your identity. Contact the relevant payment provider about information it holds.
5. Minors
Children under 13 may not use StudyNext. If a child's information was posted, a guardian can consider deleting data on the device and records on the PDS and can contact us about data we hold. StudyNext cannot remove copies held by others.
6. Changes to this Policy
If this Policy changes because of changes to the service or applicable law, we will post the changes and their effective date in the App or on the official site.
